Loading shipping containers is difficult, time-consuming, and a risk to operators as well as goods. In the case of large goods like steel or wood, they mostly use different forklifts to push the load into the container from the end. The process is time-consuming and sometimes not particularly efficient.
Combilift has developed a mechanized method that reduces the risk for humans in handling and, increases safety. The Combilift Container Slip-Sheet (Combi-CSS) speeds up container loading goods into containers.
The Combilift Container Slip-Sheet (Combi-CSS) is specifically designed for fast and secure mechanized loading of any material into containers.
The Combi-CSS has been designed to speed up loading containers while increasing safety to operators and reduce damage to the product. It has a capacity of 30,000kg. An entire load cycle can be performed by a single operator.
It allows a full load of product behind the container on the sheet and loaded onto a 40’ container in just six minutes.
When the goods are loaded in the sheet, the sheet is directly moved to the container by the mechanism underneath, It contains four hydraulic cylinders moving in sequence.
Hydraulic pins on the end of the cylinders fit into holes cut into the sheet to secure it while the cylinders pull the sheet forward to ensure safe loading without any risk of product damage.
Finally, a hydraulic rear barrier gate is fixed at the end of the platform, swings across the container opening, and is locked in place across the entire width of the platform. This holds the material within the container while the metal sheet is slipped out from lower.
